The office robot was sent outside to test its new navigation system. It returned with a map of the garden, a photograph of a bee, and a suggestion that everyone should see the lavender. Seven colleagues accepted. By the afternoon, two stubborn bugs had been fixed and an argument about button placement had lost its emotional charge. Engineers have been unable to reproduce the result indoors. The robot’s next scheduled task is inspecting a particularly promising patch of sunshine.
The singularity will be taking lunch outside.
