A community workshop has moved a modest computer into an insulated cupboard beside its greenhouse, with a carefully designed heat exchanger doing the useful part. The machine hosts neighbourhood projects; its leftover warmth takes the chill off the plants. Volunteers monitor the temperatures and argue amiably about tomato varieties. Asked whether this makes the garden a data centre, the organiser said they prefer “a place with surprisingly good Wi-Fi and basil.” The first harvest has been provisionally allocated to lunch.
