A baker redesigned her website around large type, keyboard navigation, and a button that keeps the ingredients visible. Visitors no longer need to negotiate a travelling advert for pans. The first thank-you came from someone baking with their grandfather. They finished with enough daylight left to eat the cake outside, which was always the point.

A science museum tested a touchscreen against a big mechanical button that makes a model lighthouse flash. The button won among children, adults, and the director, who requested one more go. The exhibit team has kept the touchscreen for deeper explanations and placed the button at wheelchair height. Everybody is pleased, especially the lighthouse.
Some interfaces have been good for quite a while.
